An e-commerce site for a new business selling clothing made from organic materials, Mainly Bamboo.
The client was after a clean cut classy looking website, with a hint of beach and bamboo themes tied in.
The site is to include a log in section for members, to provide them franchising documents.
To meet the clean cut look, I used a lot of readable black (#333 rather then #000) and white (#f3f3f3) instead of (#fff) for two reasons, black and white have always had classic, classy connotations as well as it’s ties to a slightly more luxury brand of clothing which matches the price points of Eco-Bambou brand.
To work within the clients budget I child-themed Woocommerce Storefront. Then building a custom home page with a full page slider and recent products section to push newly added products. On top of this all sections of text are easily editable client side within the posts section of the WordPress dashboard.
To incorporate the members log in section I installed and configuration of the bbpress plugin. This section is not publicly open yet as there are no franchisees.
This was my first time working within Storefront so was a very learn by doing (and rewarding) experience. The biggest challenge came within the design to add both a beachy feel tied in with bamboo. Working with mainly stock images finding the right balance was extremely hard. Originally the The landing image was water rolling in on the sand, as the content provided was bamboo heavy, which the client was super happy with. However the investors were not and we reached a solution with the current image having a sort of sand colour to it with a bamboo forest background.
